Feeding-related support of the intestinal flora
In the fermentation process, probiotic microorganisms multiply and produce lactic acid, antioxidants, enzymes, and vitamins. Those have an influence on the pH value and optimize the intestinal environment. In a healthy intestine, the balance of the intestinal flora is intact. Pathogenic bacteria thus do not find an ideal living base and can develop only with great difficulty. Since a large part of the immune system is located in the intestine, an intact intestinal flora favors a well-functioning immune system.
It is particularly important for calves, lambs, and piglets to build up a healthy intestinal flora, which forms a probiotic protective function against undesirable germs in the digestive tract. Feeding recommendation: daily for 8-14 days, thereafter to support feed conversion as needed. Ruminants: 10-15 ml/100 kg body weight. Pigs/poultry/rabbits: 1-2 L/t feed.
Calves: 10-20 ml/animal daily until milk is weaned or as needed.
Piglets: 1-2 ml/animal daily. Alpaca/lama crias, sheep/goat lambs: 2-3 ml/animal daily. Feeding duration should be 4-6 weeks.
