Easily digestible and lean meat is particularly suitable for the transition period until normal food can be fed again. Ideally, this is cooked gently, which increases tolerance even further. Chicken or turkey with very long and softly cooked carrots has proven to be effective. Cooked fish and a grated apple are also suitable. You should avoid the much-praised rice, as this only draws additional fluids from the body and grains in any form have no place in the cat's bowl. Freshly made chicken broth, without spices, can also be added to the meat in small portions and prevents excessive fluid and electrolyte loss.

If the stomach is irritated and the cat has perhaps even vomited, it is a good idea to swap the normal food for a few days with a light diet. Cooked, lean chicken or poultry is a good option here. If the vomiting is related to hair ingested during grooming, there should be enough cat grass available so that the animal has the opportunity to excrete the hair. Coconut oil in small quantities can also be helpful here. If the cat vomits its normal food frequently, the cause could also be an intolerance or a gastrointestinal disease.

Your cat should be fine about half an hour after vomiting. But be sure to give its stomach a little break, as the stomach lining could still be irritated. It's best to remove your cat's food bowl for a few hours.

Sick cats suffer from diarrhea, vomiting and sometimes fever. Their general well-being is often severely disturbed and the animals feel unwell and sleep noticeably much and are tired.
