What can you do if your horse has a tick problem?

If horses have a tick problem, it is advisable to remove the ticks as quickly as possible. To do this, use tick pliers or tweezers and grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible. You should then thoroughly disinfect the affected area and seek professional help if there are any signs of infection. In general, horses with metabolic disorders are more susceptible to parasites, so this should be brought back into balance.
