What diseases do ticks transmit to horses and what can be done about them?

Ticks can transmit a variety of diseases to horses, including Lyme disease, anaplasmosis and babesiosis. To prevent these diseases, horses should be checked regularly for ticks. Using tick repellents, avoiding heavily tick-infested areas and getting vaccinations when available can also help minimize the risk of tick-borne diseases.
