Successful breeding

There is probably nothing more charming than healthy, playful kittens. In order to get there, responsible and loving breeders are required. The first step is the mating of healthy parents and already during pregnancy it is important to support the mother animal nutritionally. During this time, the need for rich feed with increased protein and energy content, as well as vitamin A, calcium, taurine, iron and copper increases.

Cats are pregnant for approximately 65 days.

On average, the litter size for n cats is about 3 to 6 kittens per litter. The first litter is an exception: here the average is 2 to 3 kittens.

This question cannot be answered in general terms. It may be that a cat is no longer pregnant when it is older. In general, however, you should ask yourself whether you want to expose an animal to stress and risk once it reaches a certain age.

A cat can be mated from the first heat at around 6 months.

There is a guideline for breeding cats that no more than three litters can be born in two years. There are no such guidelines for wild cats. People should be aware of their responsibility that every year countless small and sometimes seriously ill kittens flood the animal shelters and rescue centers and that for many young animals, help comes too late.
