Feed material for horsesGut care - even with sand deposits, powderPsyllium husks are a rich source of soluble fiber. The powder swells to many times its original volume when combined with water. So-called mucilage polysaccharides are found in the husks of the seeds and are responsible for the pronounced swelling behavior and high water retention. These mucilage substances naturally increase the feed volume and are thus excellently suited as a low-carbohydrate satiety supplement.Expert tip: In case of sand in the feces, the total feeding amount can be increased up to 200 g daily for max. 7 days. Normally an annual temporary feeding towards winter for 30 days is sufficient. In case of very sandy soils, a semi-annual temporary feeding is also suitable for 30 days.Composition: 100% psyllium husks, ground.Analytical constituents: crude fiber 7.2%.Feeding recommendation: Horses: 30-50 g/L water. Ponies: ca. 25 g/0.5 L water. Allow to swell for 20-40 min. and mix into the feed 1-2 x daily. 1 tbsp. corresponds to approx. 10 g.Since psyllium husks form a mucus and line the stomach and intestines with it, medications can no longer be absorbed well.
