The New Zealand greenshell mussel has a high density of useful biologically active substances such as glycosaminoglycans. This makes it a valuable raw material with many positive properties. Glycosaminoglycans belong to the group of amino sugars (simple sugars), are also called food for the joints and are a natural component of the synovia (synovial fluid) and cartilage.
