WURM-O-VET: victim of the pharmaceutical lobby?

Warning associations or, as is currently the case, the drug authority in Oldenburg repeatedly try to prohibit the sale of products using arguments and methods that we believe are incorrect – as in the case of cdVet Wurm-o-Vet.

cdVet naturally defends itself against such attacks in court. In the first instance, cdVet successfully defended itself against the authority's unjustified and arbitrary ban on sales by means of an urgent application to the administrative court.

Totally unexpectedly, the Lüneburg Higher Administrative Court has now overturned the Osnabrück Administrative Court's decision, which we believe to be correct and very well-founded, with completely inadequate and incomprehensible reasons. This means that Wurm-o-Vet products can no longer be offered with immediate effect. The court order can of course be overturned by filing a lawsuit in the main proceedings. Therefore, if necessary, cdVet will take action against this decision in the main proceedings up to the Federal Administrative Court or the European Court of Justice. Even if it takes several years for a final judgment.

The Higher Administrative Court based its "decision" only on individual labeling elements of the products, but not on quality and composition.

For the duration of the temporary sales ban, we can of course offer you alternative products:

You can find these products under the tried and tested theme brands Felitatz, EquiGreen, PrivetFarming and under the new brand cdProtect.

A brief background:

The temporary sales ban was justified in particular by the fact that suppliers of pharmaceuticals are being damaged too much by such products, as they have expensive approval procedures. We believe that the profits of antibiotic manufacturers should not be valued more highly than the goal - or at least the right - of avoiding the causes of disease through healthy feeding, husbandry and care and thus reducing the need for antibiotics and worming treatments.

The authority's demonstrable "methods" are particularly striking. The authority had described cdVet's legal position as "presumptuous". However, three years before the order against cdVet, the authority had already tried to have the federal authority BVL assess these products as medicinal products and thus have them banned.

The BVL had already made it clear at the time that it saw no legal basis for this and that cdVet's product was therefore not a so-called "presentation medicinal product".

Now, after around 2.5 years, the authority has initiated a sales ban. It is evident that the employee in charge discussed with the head of the authority how likely it was that cdVet had become aware of this positive assessment by the BVL. The authority saw no reason of its own to communicate the BVL's assessment to us (or to the court).

In our opinion, it is wrong to ban products that reduce the need for medicines through better health for formal reasons. Our common goal should of course be healthy animals that do not need any medicines or that need significantly less. And how can you ensure that animals are healthy? It's actually quite simple: naturally - in addition to healthy and species-appropriate husbandry, and in particular through a healthy diet. Many substances such as bitter substances, saponins, tannins, essential oils and other natural ingredients of herbs and plants have important functions for the respiratory tract, digestion and immune system. If these are missing as part of a one-sided "modern" diet, the animal's immune system is weakened, less resistant and therefore more susceptible to disease. This results in a high demand for medicines.

cdVet natural products massively reduce these deficiencies by optimizing nutrition and thus strengthening health. Improved health therefore means less need for the use of antibiotics!

As a customer of cdVet natural products, you are certainly aware of how important it is to provide our animals with natural and species-appropriate food and care products. We should all pursue the same goal and reduce the reasons for taking medication to the lowest possible level.

Banning natural products with flimsy justifications should not be tolerated. We are pleased about your preference for natural products and hope that you will continue to use natural products. We also thank you for supporting us by purchasing and using them so that cdVet products can continue to be made available to support health.
