Why not just dry food for cats?

As former desert dwellers, cats rely on sufficient water intake through their food. Water sources to be able to drink enough are rare or non-existent in desert-like landscapes. If the food contains too little liquid (as is the case with dry food), the cat does not compensate for this by drinking more water, as this is simply not in keeping with its nature. The result is kidney disease and even death from kidney failure.
