What is partial BARFing?
There are situations in life where it is simply not possible to BARF exclusively due to time constraints or strategic considerations. Be it because of working hours or while staying with friends or on holiday. Partial BARFing can be a real alternative here. With partial BARFing, fresh meat feeding is supplemented with cold-pressed dry food that is suitable in terms of digestibility. This makes it possible to ideally benefit from the advantages of both types of feeding.
We recommend a product from the cdVet Fit-Crock range in addition to Fit-BARF MicroMineral (item no. 669) and Fit-BARF DarmFlora (item no. 4122).
Can you mix ready-made food with meat?
Additional feeding with dry food is possible. However, the food should be as digestible as fresh meat. Feeding fresh meat alternately with products from the cdVet Fit-Crock series is possible without any problems, as it is cold-pressed food and the digestion times of these products are close to those of fresh meat. When feeding conventional, extruded food, the intestinal passage is much faster, as the food is already fully broken down. Mixing can lead to flatulence or constipation and other digestive problems.
In general, it is recommended to feed fresh meat and dry food at different times. This means, for example, dry food in the morning and fresh meat in the evening.
