Feline Hygiene

Cats are clean animals and for the most part, take care of their own cleanliness. Nevertheless, they also, from time to time, need a little support in hygiene or care. cdVet offers various natural products for the pampering program of our feline friends.

For a normal cat, a brush (usually just for pleasure) and maybe a damp washcloth now and then is enough.

Cats only need a bath in absolute exceptional cases.

If a cat has enough scratching opportunities in the house, the claws will be shortened sufficiently on their own. However, if the cat is older and somewhat handicapped, it may be necessary to trim the claws. Therefore, look at the paws regularly and intervene early if necessary. An ingrown claw is extremely painful and absolutely unnecessary.

Cats are very clean animals, which is why the term "cat washing", which we often use to describe a quick wash, is actually misleading. Over the course of a day, cats spend an average of more than 3 hours on personal hygiene.

An agile and healthy cat usually doesn't need any help with grooming. An exception to this are long-haired cats, which sometimes need support and regular brushing because of their long fur. Older and clumsy animals sometimes need our help.
