Respiratory system in horses – symptoms
One in four horses in Germany now suffers from coughing, and the trend is increasing. In around ten percent, the disease becomes chronic. To prevent this from happening, the signs should be recognized early. If our horses are less efficient, there is often a connection with respiratory sensitivity, as the horse has less oxygen available to produce energy. Coughing, nasal discharge, slightly increased respiratory rate, the formation of a steam groove, breathing noises, wheezing and fever also indicate respiratory problems. The causes can be viruses, bacteria, parasites or allergies. In addition to checking environmental factors such as the conditions in which the horse is kept, lack of exercise, etc., valuable, natural herbs can have beneficial effects.
In our HustaVet program, we focus on the natural needs of horses. Selected herbal mixtures based on nature support the horses' sensitive respiratory system. They can strengthen and support the body's own and natural defenses, the respiratory tract's cleansing mechanisms and the functions of the mucous membranes, thus helping to loosen mucus. Self-healing powers are activated and the horse's well-being is improved.
