The components of sage, of which only the leaves are used, are essential oils, d-camphor, salvioles, salvos, betulines, asparagins, bitter substances, borneols, carnosic acid, zineols, flavonoids, fumaric acid, tannins, tannic acid, resin, ledol, limonene, menthol, estrogen-like substances, oleanolic acid, pinene, sabinol, salicylic acid, saponins, terpineol, thujone, thymol, zinc and vitamins.
